Hey fellow foodies!!

I guess we all have the fond memories of cooking/grilling/baking with mom and/or dad. For me it was helping Kitepop with london broils, wootzie noodles, other german based dishes, and exotic salads(pardon the spelling). As well as watching my mom create breads from scratch and experimenting with different cuisines.

Well, when I first started attending the University of North Texas I was a Hospitality management major pursuing a dream of becoming a resort owner(still pursuing). I was in a bit of a toss up between Culinary and the resort industry, until I took Professor Dureya's Professional Food Prep. class here at UNT...I Fell in love with the culinary arts. I found out that there are "basic" formulas or concepts, if you will, behind each dish we made that can be modified with seemingly endless possibilites. Each concept that I can add upon or tear down to it's most basic "formula," and can build back up into something that is unique, and defines me personally. No two dishes being the same. For the past two years I have been inviting friends over to try new dishes that I have created, and each was a definate success. Many of them told me I was majoring in the wrong field and should re-think my career. Well I did, and this is my new beginning. From now until the day I graduate each day will be to further my dream of attending C.I.A. to pursue the ever elusive Master Chef Certificate. And I will not stop until that certificate is framed on my wall. Not as a sign of boasting, but to remind myself of where I have been, and the endless amount of culinary adventures awaiting me.

I want to incorporate asian foods into various traditional dishes. Asian Fusion. Asian foods are notorious for being healthy, and the resourcefulness of the people coupled with the types of food they eat, create a never ending combinations waiting to be explored.
